EU Specialized 4 days Training

After a series of research activities conducted in Italy, Greece, France and Portugal and based on the evidences gathered with children, RESILAND is now offering two training courses to reinforce the capacities of professionals from NGOs and institutions working with children on the move with the scope of enhancing protection strategies and practices based on children perspectives, resources, resilience and rights.
The two training courses will be organized respectively in Italy and Greece.
The first (4-days) training course in Italy will be conducted from 3rd to 7th May 2015 in Turin at the historical premises of La Certosa 1515 (www.certosa1515.org).
The second (4-days) training course in Greece will be conducted during the first week of June 2015 in Athens (details of this training will be communicated closer to the date). Applicants may choose to participate in one of the two training courses (Italy or Greece). The working language will be English.
Each course will involve 25 participants selected from different EU countries. All expenses (travel, accommodation and training costs) will be covered by the organizers. The residential training, addressed to experienced professionals, will alternate theory and practices based on the contents elaborated during the project as well as the direct work experience of participants.
The courses will be conducted by the Defence for Children Italy research team with the contribution of an international Group of Experts that followed the work throughout its development and will concentrate on the following areas and subjects:
- Children’s rights as a systemic platform to redefine and strengthen protection systems, programmes and practices;
- Practical approaches to enhance resilience and vulnerabilities through active participation of children;
- Migration cycles and intercultural dynamics in the determination of protection strategies;
- Narratives and biographies as keys to enhance the effectiveness of strategies aimed at ensuring the best interest of the child.
The interactive nature of the training will lead the participants to draft a proposal of standards to enhance policies and practices at national and EU level on the above mentioned issues.
